What Do We Know About Our Adversary

What do we know about our great adversary...Satan?

Yes...the once called Lucifer and since named Satan...is alive and well! His influence is seen and felt throughout the entire world. He is neither omnipresent or omniscient, but he has a vast army of fallen angels doing his bid in every nook and cranny known to man. Whether we as God's people like it or not, he is still a foe to be reckoned with.

Yes, he is a defeated foe, but his influence still reeks havoc upon the saved and unsaved alike. One can easily see his handiwork both outside and inside the Church.

When we look at the world with all its obvious evil, sometimes we conclude that we are safe from Satan's influence within the walls of the Church. One could not be farther from the truth.

All one has to do is notice the hundreds of divisional issues that fellow Christians wrestle with. These are not issues brought about by the Holy Spirit, but are instead birthed by the Evil One. He uses one of the oldest warfare strategies ever invented...divide and conquer! Since he knows that he can not ultimately conquer God's people...he CAN help ensure that we become less effective in our ministry.

One of the sad realities of our warfare with Satan is that his army is totally unified...and ours is not. We spend more time arguing over what Bible translation we are supposed to use than what we do trying to get people saved.

I fully agree that sound doctrine is of utmost importance, but if we were to spend more time on our knees and pray for like-mindedness, I think we would be much further ahead and make our time here on earth more productive. Nevertheless, God is in control and we know that we will win!
